Algae cells are quickly and efficiently separated using a Algae Centrifuge. Water (centrate) laden with algae cells is continuously pumped into the centrifuge bowl. The hi-G force effectively slings out the heavier algae cells which are dumped out as sludge during the sludge ejection stage of the centrifuge. Clear water is continuously discharged from the centrifuge back to the growth matrix.
Algae is harvested for a variety of applications. Including Biofuel Production; Medicinal/Herbal Production and general cleaning of waste-water streams.
Industrial Centrifuges are being used on large scale in Algae Harvesting & Oil Extraction. Fuyi Centrifuges has supplied specially designed hi-speed centrifuges for continuous separation of algae cells from the fermentation broth (centrate). All stainless steel contact algae centrifuges are well suited for salt-water applications. – and algae oil extraction also known as algae oil harvesting.
Fuyi Centrifuges has been working with customers in Algae Harvesting using centrifuge technology. We have done multiple pilot-scale and batch-scale trials at our facility. It helped us identify the optimum methodology and type of centrifuge for maximum harvesting efficiency. Special centrifuge modifications were developed through in-house testing leading to higher throughput and separation efficiency in algae fuel production. Our specially modified algae centrifuges are also well suited for algae oil extraction from the cell mass and water.
